Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Overview
Clyra (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a financial dashboard that links your bank accounts, credit cards and loans so you can track net worth, spending, subscriptions and business profit & loss statements. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it and your rights.
Data we collect
- Account information: email address and authentication details used to create and secure your Clyra account.
- Financial account data: through our integration with Plaid, we receive read-only access to account balances, transaction history, account numbers (masked), institution names and related metadata.
- Usage data: information about how you interact with the app, such as feature usage and error logs, collected to improve the service.
How we use your data
- To display your net worth, spending, subscriptions and business P&Ls.
- To categorize transactions and generate AI-powered financial insights.
- To sync your linked accounts and keep your dashboard up to date.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal or financial data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Clyra, such as Plaid for bank account linking, our cloud infrastructure provider for hosting and storage, and our AI provider for transaction categorization. All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us. We may also disclose data when required by law.
Plaid
Clyra uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect your financial accounts. By linking an account you grant Clyra and Plaid the right to access and transmit your financial information from your financial institution. Your data is handled in accordance with Plaid’s privacy policy, available at plaid.com/legal. Clyra requests read-only access; we cannot initiate payments or move money.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access credentials issued by Plaid are stored encrypted and are never exposed to the browser. Bank login credentials are entered directly with Plaid and are never seen or stored by Clyra. Access to financial data is restricted per user through row-level security and is logged.
Data retention
We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account is active. When you disconnect an institution, we delete the associated access credentials. When you delete your account, we delete your personal and financial data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law.
Your rights
You can disconnect your linked accounts, request an export of your data, or delete your Clyra account and associated data at any time from within the app or by contacting us at hello@clyrafinance.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Children’s privacy
Clyra is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
